The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team. In this role, you will collaborate with investigators within and outside of Duke University on cancer-focused research projects that aim to improve the understanding of clinical outcomes and advance statistical methodology.
You will contribute to projects focused on identifying and validating surrogate endpoints for overall survival using data from cancer clinical trials and patient registries, developing prognostic models of clinical outcomes in cancer, and conducting Bayesian meta-analyses. This position also provides opportunities to develop innovative statistical methods related to clinical trial design, variable selection in high-dimensional data, prediction of clinical outcomes, and meta-analysis methodology. These efforts are expected to result in collaborative and methodological publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Statistics or Biostatistics.
- Solid training in statistical methods.
- Experience analyzing clinical trial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong programming skills in R.
- Proficiency working within UNIX/Linux environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bayesian statistical methods.
- Experience with hierarchical modeling and mixed effects models.
- Knowledge of survival analysis.
- Knowledge of machine learning methods.
